David Tolson - CEO
David Tolson is the CEO of DBT-Data Holdings, Inc. DBT entered the data center development business in 2007 with the formation of DBT-DATA and the development of the Cyber Integration Center in Harrisonburg , Va. After completion; that Data Center was subsequently sold to Harris Engineering Corp..
David's move in to the Data Center Development space then turned to Ashburn,Va. the epicenter of the Data Center marketplace. DBT quickly acquired over 500k sq.ft. of Potential Prime Data Center space. Success followed DBT to Ashburn when Raging Wire leased a DBT Powered Shell to open their new East Coast operations center, now known as"The Bolt". At that time; DBT's development arm also constructed a purpose built 123K Sq.Ft. Data Center Powered Shell. DBT now owns and is in various stages, of developing several other properties on Guilford Dr. and Beaumeade Circle, in the heart of Ashburn.
This past year; through a turn of events; the Harrisonburg, Va. facility was re-purchased and re-branded in October of 2013.
Today the Cyber Center in Harrisonburg is up and running again as part of the DBT-DATA portfolio. DBT-DATA continues to maintain it's presence in the Ashburn , Va marketplace where the focus has been creating purpose built and adapted Data Center Powered Shells for that marketplace. Over the past few years, David Tolson has become a well known expert in the Data Center marketplace and frequently appears on various expert panels at industry trade and conference events. The DBT Companies work hard to support the community they live and work in. David Tolson is an active supporter of local philanthropic organizations.
David is a 1990 graduate of the The George Washington University in Washington,D.C. where he received a BA in International Economics from the Elliot School of International Affairs. While a Senior at GW University, David started his Real Estate development career by starting DBT Development. At that time,the primary focus of development was the conversion of inner city apartment buildings into luxury condominiums. Over the past 20+ years, DBT Development has developed and now owns a significant multifamily rental portfolio. DBT's most current project is the ground up development of an 86 unit luxury condominium on Capitol Hill. The DBT Companies are also very active in support of the Community and David frequently offers his support to local philanthropic organizations.
David lives on Capitol Hill with his wife and daughter. The DBT Companies Headquarters building is also located on Capitol Hill, in Washington,D.C..
John Kraft - COO
John Kraft Has over 25 years experience in the Telecommunications, Internet, and Hosting/Cloud business in the areas of strategy, executive management, operations, sales and service. Mr. Kraft most recently served as the Managing Director of his own Consulting business which was preceded by his role as the CEO of Clear Government Solutions and prior to that as the President, CEO, and member of the Board of Directors of ServerVault, a multi-million dollar hosting business serving the secure hosting requirements of Federal agencies and Fortune 1000 corporations that was sold to Carpathia Hosting in 2009. Prior to those assignments, Mr. Kraft held multiple senior positions with PSINet, culminating as the President and COO of the $1B U.S. business serving the enterprise and U.S. federal marketplace with a global IP network, 17 data centers, and a broad portfolio of web hosting, internet connectivity, and consulting services. Prior to PSINet, Mr. Kraft held senior executive operational and sales management positions at MCI, including the Executive responsible for sales and customer service for the Mid Atlantic region including Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.
Nick Kovacic - VP
Mr. Kovacic currently serves as a VP of Corporate Development and Senior Advisor to DBT Data in Washington, D.C. Nick Kovacic is also the founding Partner of The Nicholas Companies LLC. He has over 25 + years of experience in Business and Technology companies in both the Commercial market and with companies supplying products and services to the Federal Government. He spent most of those years in Leadership and Management roles. Nick has expertise in Corporate Strategy, Business Development, Operations Management, Business Technologies, M&A, Data Center Operations and Cloud Strategies. He is very well versed in New and Nascent technologies. The Nicholas Companies, t/a TNC Partners; have served the Telecom, Technology, Financial, Non-Profit, Media, Education, Government and Retail industries for the past two decades. Mr. Kovacic is also the Co-Founder of Welbeck Secure Solutions LLC, a wireless and Data Center Security company in Bethesda, Md. He is currently on their Board of Directors.
Mr. Kovacic maintains his close ties to the Washington Metro Technology Community as a Member of AFCEA and AFFIRM. He was an advisor to Baltimore Venture Mentors and the Emerging Technology Center in Baltimore, Md. He is a founding member of the U.S Naval Academy High Tech Council (The Wardroom).Nick holds a BA in Economics from Bethany College.
Dale Coldren Director - Client Acquisition
Mr. Coldren has over 30 years of sales and marketing experience; during his career he has held several executive level positions including President, Vice President of Sales and several Managerial roles with IT Software, Hardware, Network, and Cyber security, IT Consulting Services, Storage, High Performance Computing, Emergency Communications and Systems Integration Companies. Dale has over 8 years of State and Federal Government Executive experience as a Legislative Assistant for a US Congressman and then became the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Dale has developed sales strategies to close opportunities worth over $100 million. He has very strong relationships with many Government CIOs, Directors, Corporate Systems Integrators, Sales Executives, Capture Managers and Program Managers. Dale’s skill set includes response preparation for RFPs, RFQs and RFIs within DOD accounts, Civilian Government accounts, State Government and Local Government accounts. Excellent experience with the Government FARs, Government IT standards, procurement process and government contracts (GSA schedule, IDIQ, Firm Fixed Contracts and Cost-Plus contracts). Dale has extensive experience with procurement teaming strategies and government sales pricing strategies. Dale attended The American University, BS/BA, Economics and Marketing and Southeastern University, where he earned an MBA, in Marketing/Finance.
